Emerald Beach is a village in White River Township, Barry County, Missouri, United States. The population was 250 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 250 people, 120 households, and 84 families residing in the village. The population density was 349.8 people per square mile (136.0/km²). There were 215 housing units at an average density of 300.8 per square mile (116.9/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.40% White, 0.40% Native American, and 1.20% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.20% of the population.

There were 120 households out of which 15.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.2% were married couples living together, 3.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.2% were non-families. 25.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.08 and the average family size was 2.45.

In the village the population was spread out with 13.2% under the age of 18, 1.6% from 18 to 24, 16.8% from 25 to 44, 36.8% from 45 to 64, and 31.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 56 years. For every 100 females there were 98.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $32,813, and the median income for a family was $36,875. Males had a median income of $29,286 versus $19,063 for females. The per capita income for the village was $16,267. About 9.0% of families and 12.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 26.7% of those under the age of eighteen and 8.3% of those sixty five or over.
